Make Your Goal Small Enough
If a goal feels heavy or intimidating, it’s usually not because you lack motivation—it’s because the goal is too big for right now. Big goals are meant to guide direction; small goals are meant to drive action.
Instead of asking, “How do I finish this goal?” ask:
👉 “What’s the smallest meaningful step I can complete this week?”
Example:
Big goal: Write a book
This week’s goal: Outline one chapter
Even better: Write 300 rough words, no editing
Or:
Big goal: Get in shape
This week’s goal: Two 15-minute walks after dinner
Small goals lower resistance, make progress visible, and build confidence. Once you start winning small, momentum takes over—and momentum is far more reliable than motivation.
Remember: If you finish your weekly goal and feel like you could do more, that’s not a failure. That’s success.
